I went to a garage yesterday in Okehampton which was supplying fuel to emergency services and my ID was not sufficient. Apparently you also need a leeter of authorisation from the hospital. There was also a policeman on the forecourt.

We had a police guard on our local "emergency service vehicles only" garage, but hospital staff got in with just a badge.

Everything was getting back to normal nicely till yesterday, then everyone got the queues going again and all the stations ran out by tea time !
Luckily, we don't seem to have a problem with toilet rolls, but then most people use privet leaves up here !

Today is the day you worried about yesterday - and all is well !

With all this panic buying its not just unleaded thats hard to get hold of, you try buying candles, sandbags or a boat at the moment - all sold out!

I thought the next action was planned for the 13th ? So why are people buying bread and milk - not to mention petrol - like we were coming up to a bank holiday weekend ?

Have you noticed that as soon as there was a mention on panic petrol buying, the price went up by 2p a litre ?
