Sunny in Southport...isn't it always.

People even spotted on the beach, waiting for the tide to come in (expected 2007)

Can't wait for the "national" news tonight,

"Country at standstill" "Chaos everywhere"

Is that because a couple of centimetres has fallen "darn sarf"

A small splattering of snow on the ground here in Nottingham this morning - what's all the fuss about? - it's winter, that's what happens! - or is it political correctness gone mad (now reached weather forecasters).

Yep, I cycled into work this morning (hope you weren't the car driver that cut me up John). I cycle everyday - my Trust ain't too keen on car drivers, unless they are patients.

Now we have wet snow falling - excitement cool rolleyes

mmm snow ideed, plenty here (north east)
Planning to go to the IPEM seminar in York this morning. You know the event entitled 'Skating on thin ice'
How apt a title !
Especially when an officer of the law drives into my car this morning whilst taking a bend too fast in these conditions -not going to York now !
Looking on the bright side................... no-one injured and probably saved me and my colleague getting stuck in the snow!

You're right Dave - in Wales it's quite normal for around a foot or two of snow to fall on an August day.

But here in sunny Essex, we get 3cm and everything grinds to a halt. The whole town was clagged up this morning for hours.

Update: John Sandham (Henceforce to be know as El Wimpo) couldn't even make it around to the local tonight for a pint!!!!!

No, I retract the El Wimpo comment.

Anyone who knows John will know, there will have been nothing short of a blizzard out there to stop him socialising.....

Hmmm, must be serious frown

What do you mean about not having any sun about, can't get rid of it out here!! Maybe there is a market waiting to be tapped for Humungus quantities of 'Optical Storage space' to be utilized at this time of the year for you poor guys over there!! How come I've missed-out yet again on this pleasure of a life-time - everywhere snow!
