Just out of interest how old are you all? I know there is alot of experience out there, so where has it come from? I know some are army trained, some navy trained, some just fell into the job and some worked their way up from 'skivvy'!
How many are nearing retirement, or could go now if they wanted?
to start the ball rolling i'm a youthful looking 33yo!!! , that trained as in Electronic service, firstly for a printer manufacture (dot matrix thermal transfer and laser)and then moved to medical equipment.

Hey Scott, what’s KIMAL? Don’t tell me, it’s a new government agency for what we used to know as the National Audit Office?
If you don't inspect ... don't expect.

Scott, You are not asking about retirement to see if there are any vacancies coming up are you? Well you will have to wait 10 years more, 5 extra years to reach pensionable age and then 5 more years working to make up for the reduced pension. Regards Robert 45years old, 15 years in the biomed field, 7 years nursing and an industrial apprenticeship. Shoe size 71/2
My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

A youthful looking 33 year old hey Scott.
Must be all that good clean air you breathe in over at Runcorn.
To add to the debate, 43 (nearly, if I don't croak in the next week) 16 years as a Biomed, 5 years previous for the MoD (no uniform required, sorry Geoff not available for beasting), horizontal circumference now equalling vertical attainment but still 1 inch taller than Mick Mc
Why worry, Be happy!

Horizontal slightly greater than vertical maybe Dave? I'll have to take a trip to the seaside with a tape measure to verify this once and for all! My bald bonce is testament to 20 years in the NHS and 44 years on the planet. I'll get the hang of it one day!

hi everyone,
I'm 31. Have been working for the nhs for 8 years(here for 3 years). Before that I was at uni "doing" a BEng in Electonic Engineering.
Im currently trying to qualify as an adult trainer, i just getting a bit bored doing the same thing.
Im also one of those strange people married to a medical engineer, no we dont work at the same trust.

43 years young. 10 years EBME here at Taunton(nowhere else). College. 4 years recovering from a back injury/operation - I stepped back to admire a loft conversion that I was building...I forgot that I was 30 ft off the ground. I fell with style! 5 years as a carpenter. College. 5 years Merchant Navy. 4 months National Sea Training College, Gravesend - lovely place.
Adaptable and unblinkered.
Cheers Mark
