Novelty ties are one thing, but singing or flashing ties, that's a whole new story.
We had a lecturer at my FE college that wore a bow tie most of the time I was there. Now he got more stick from the other lecturers than from the students !!!
As for ties bows or otherwise that is a no no. It wouldnt go with my t-shirt. As for those sad muppets that think we should be in a shirt and tie that does not show professialism as I have worked with the tie wearing brigade for years and I would trust a scruffy engineer any day at least you know they arent afraid to get dirty. Dont always go on looks get to know the people!!!
As for the boots American jungle boots are comfortable but flying boots are better.
'I think I have contracted that bird flu thing as I woke this morning with a swollen pecker.'
Does the wearing of a tie (novelty or otherwise) indicate an unwillingness to get dirty? I suppose by the same measure those who look scruffy when they go to work betray a similar untidiness in their approach to everything else.
Before I get buried under a dollop of hate mail I'm just making an observation OK? Wear what you like for me.
Except novelty ties if you want to be taken seriously.
I quite agree wear what you like but let us not all tar those with or without a tie with the professialism stigma. That is what I am trying to say sorry if it came over that I was taring people.
