Hi all,

Just that, which one? Just about to purchase either of these two vents for our adult ITU, any views re- costs of spares, service, support, reliability etc.

Comments welcome.
Cheers

We have purchased 2 servo i's for our ITU but they haven't been delivered yet. Draeger didn't show up to trial theirs!

We have Evita 4 and Servo i ventilators here at Papworth in our CCU. I find both ventilators to be reliable but the Servo i requires far less servicing. Maquet also carry out free software upgrades and provide free refresher training for technicians every 2/3 years.

Hi Matt,

I found Servo i very reliable ventilators.
We have 14 machines and running well. So far I faced only 2/3 problems in 3years. It is easy to maintain.

We trialled almost every make / model last year under an OJEC tender. We bought Drager.
We are currently running 25 Drager Evita vents and several Engstroms.
We have been running Dragers in the Evita range for over 10yrs easy to service / repair, v.good tech course. Very realiable. I managed the clinical trial feed back and clinicians / nurses gave really positive feed back.

We faxed an order for some Drager spares and they were delivered 2 days later. Can't really complain at that.

I'm happy to declare our imminent abandonment of Servo's for more of the the faultless Evita's laugh

4x Servo 300's: Constant O2 cell failures (any supplier), control pots, and expensive service kits. mad

One Servo-i: Several expensive touch screen assemblies due to internal failures, and several patient cassettes, with internal failures and the most recent is the failure of the nebuliser driver which only happens to be located on the expensive main control board. Aside from the parts, every fault involves getting an engineer in to reload the software. mad The nurses like to use it but its not as reliable as the Evitas we've been using elsewhere totally fault free for years...

Drager is definately the way to go... wink
