Hold your horses there Geoff - I don't mind self-inflicting the odd pint on myself (for research purposes mind you).

Nice to hear you have packed in the dreaded weed also John, you wont be able to have a smoke with your pint shortly anyway with this ban coming into effect… So Roll on 1st July. That link you posted Geoff does really discredit the Panorama programme and anyone who would be open minded enough to possibly take a step back and question the issues for themselves. Panorama has lost some of the clout it had in its heyday and the Wi – Fi programme was not a mind blowing scientific study, but to be fair they did have some prominent scientist speaking from both sides of the argument. I have never heard of the author your link refers to Geoff and until recently I had never heard of Prof Henry Lai but looking at the link below he is a well published academic in the Bio-engineering dept of Washington University… maybe even a lurker on this EBME site then. Even if he is not, maybe we should e-mail him and ask for a posting straight from the horses mouth. I havent yet figured out how I can put a hyperlink in for the website below ,can someone help me out? http://depts.washington.edu/bioe/people/core/lai/lai.html

Going back to Geoff's point on banning alcohol... Sorry Geoff ... you know what prohibition leads to... you were in the middle east. Prohibition leads to black market sales. Mr Brown would not be with you on this one. I'm with Richard - i'll keep inflicting myself with the occasional pint, G&T, B&C, glass of wine, and any other tipple I fancy.

Black Markets in a Browner Britain? I thought we were meant to be going Green? Yes, I’ve done my time in the Desert (and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t wish I was still there), but I’ve also see the low-life (female, more often than not) rolling about in the gutter (literally) in our city centres and seaside towns any night of every week. Not to mention the A&E departments in our hospitals. So there’s no prizes for guessing which I prefer!

I wonder what the good Professor will be thinking about another interesting article I read recently. Never mind Wi-Fi what about Witricity… see link below. Strangely enough its not a new idea as I have been reading a book on some of Nicola Teslas great ideas and he proposed this notion many years ago. Whatever next. http://www.dailywireless.org/2007/06/08/wi-tricity-for-wireless-power/

Not to mention the famous "Diathermy Test Set" made by the REME at Woolwich! Anybody got a picture of that one, I wonder? Not even here, sadly!
