I could be willing to visit your lovely part of England, and do a stint with you Dicky, but only as a contractor. smile

Hello

It`s himself here (the boss of the aforementioned department in a beautiful corner of England).
After the tours of the various continents and the diversion from the topic I`ve had a couple of encouraging enquiries for the jobs, so the EBME website certainly came in handy there.
As for the merits of the area, I`m working at the West Cumberland Hospital today, and the journey home might be the road to Lorton, over the Whinlatter Pass to Bassenthwaite then across the Northern Fells via Uldale and Caldbeck to Carlisle, probably beats the M25 for scenery, but there`s a lot of sheep to dodge (or catch - if you`re so inclined).

Going for the hard sell, then, Rick? smile

Not so clever in the middle of winter, though, Mate.

Depends on your mode of transport Geoff. However I must say that I got snowed in more often in 3 years living in Suffolk than I have up here (not once) in 15 years.

just remember to bring an umbrella for the horizontal rain and a warm coat (for the southeners). Saying that we are basking in the sun today, must be summer has turned up at last.

What you have to know is Dave (Dicky) lives out near Allonby on the Cumbrian coast where warm gentle breezes blowing off the gulf stream warmed sea sigh through the palm trees, so he wouldn`t be snowed in that often

Can you see Calder Hall from where you are, Dicky? That video clip is worth worth spending three minutes with. No hard hats in those days, Mate. And doesn't our young Queen look so chic? Of course, the real reasons for Britain's (and, as was the nature of things fifty years ago, the world's) first productive nuclear power station were a bit sinister. frown

Is the railway station still thriving at Sellafield, I wonder?
