I was wondering if anybody could recomend a phototherapy unit for hypabilirubin in neonates. We are looking to get some new ones for our Labour ward. We had new ones from medula a couple of years back for the SCBU and while the users think they are good the support for them is extreemly poor.

Any recomendations.

We have one example of this lamp - but I cannot say how good ( or bad ) it is because I don't deal with these personally.

Look at PASA under Neonatal, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. You'll find evaluations and general guidance/background information. Then why not organise a trial to see which of the devices on evaluation meet your hospital's needs?

Thanks for the advice. What do you use?

Medela Bilibed and Hill-Rom Microlite. I'm not necessarily recomending these but they are in use at the moment.

Weyer "Bili Compact" units from Central Medical Supplies seem ok, though we've only had them abiout a year so far.
