South East Thames EME Managers Group, is compiled of representation from the majority of the Medical Engineering Depts. in the South East, meeting formally every four months.

At the recent meeting the question was raised, “How many other like groups were there around the country”?.

If contact groups could post names and contact points to this string, we can possibly form the basis of a new data table, with a view to sharing further information, extended discussion groups, etc.

East Anglia Region has a regional EBME/Med eng group which meets quarterly. We normally have the meeting sponsored so it doesn't cost us anything.

Hi John

It's seems that there are only TWO groups that are prepared to admit to talking to each other.

Could this be the reason why we may be regarded as being inconsistant (nationally) by others confused

There is a group in the North East which covers Northumberland down to Yorkshire. This group meets every three months and is also sponsored so that there is no cost involved. The North West also have a group which meets regulary and there has been contact made between these two Northern groups to possibly arrange a joint meeting.
These group meetings are important as I feel that at the moment we are all trying to achieve the same objectives but as individuals rather than as a team.

We have a Mersey, call it North West Group and meet four times a year. Each meeting takes place at a diferent hospitals of the group, each time.

No written agenda, no minutes, which suits us all. Just a free for all. Sometimes we invite in a host company to present to us, if we wish.

EBME Managers and/or their deputy.

Hospitals in the group:

Arrowe Park/Clatterbridge
Countess of Chester
Whiston
Warrington
Runcorn
Royal Liverpool
Broadgreen
Cardio Thoracic Centre
Aintree Hospitals (Walton/Fazakerley)
Southport/Ormskirk
Mossley Hill

Hope this helps

The "real" North West group (as opposed to Jims "Merseyside" group !)covers hospitals from Preston and Lancaster down to Macclesfield and from Blackpool over to Oldham. We meet quarterly, normally without a formal agenda and sometimes with a company making a presentation. Sometimes we invite speakers to do a presentation on a special topic - we've had Supplies, NHS Estates and the MDA, for instance.

We try and keep in touch with other groups, sometimes sending someone as a representative to their meetings and having someone sit in on our meetings - we even let Jim come to one of them - but once is enough !

What we need is at least one person from each regional group to come along to the Welch Allyn EBME Steering Group meeting in Birmingham - then perhaps we can really make a start at getting a National network going.

Today is the day you worried about yesterday - and all is well !

This is a West Midlands Regional Group however it has not not meet for some time for various reasons. Maybe with the help of this site it can become pro-active again.

Our newly built Post Graduate & Education Centre (Royal Shrewsbury) opened this week and it has wonderful facilities with space to have Exhibitions etc. Thus on 20th February with the help of our Procurrement Department an Infusion Equipment Demonstration Day has been organised for Medical, Nursing and Technical Staff. Committed so far are Alaris, Baxter, Drager and Graseby with possibily Arcomed. They will be present from 9.00 till 4.00pm-ish with their teams and stands. A free buffet and other refreshments will be available during the day.

A seminar room has been booked from 2.00-3.30 and invites sent out to prospective members for a 'reconvened' Midlands Group. This will be Chaired by Chris Collins - George Elliot Hospital.

If you wish to come to the exhibition or wish to attend the Regional Group please confirm with Kath.Bennett@rsh.nhs.uk so that sufficient catering can be organised.

Dear Louis,

I have always assumed that the statment " go forth and multiply" was a polite way of saying a two worded coment with one word being "off". frown I hope that you dont mean this as I find these meetings very usefull.

My dear Philip, do you think for one minute that I Louis Lyniswern III, son of Louis Lyniswern II and grandson of the Great Louis Lyniswern would ever suggest your recriminate, my affiliate, “Go Forth and Multiply” Genesis 8-10, my atheistic hombre, Genesis 8, and I don't refer to Mr. Colins and his menagerie. Rejoice in its beauty as Noah addresses his vagabond's and orders them to extend their existence upon Gods green and wonderful creation.
eek Philip, or may I call you Phil, I am merely suggesting that we should encompass all our brethren for the mighty fornification of our hard working co-functional's and unite as one. Impinge, my friends impinge.

Louis III cool
