I understood the mindray was basically the same monitor as the Datascope Passport range of monitors. (Please feel free to correct me if I have got this wrong.)
It is better to be reactive than radioactive...

The Mindray monitors are also rebadged as Penlon. These have been around for a while so someone must have experience of these. I hear that Mindray are setting up a dedicated support centre in the UK, in my experience Artemis has always been good at support. Robert
My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

Yes the Mindray monitors are also shipped as Penlons, they are a good monitor, basic price too. I did the training course when I worked for Penlon, they fit the slot in terms of cost against the competition. They may not be as robust as some, but they certainly work ok. But what monitor bounces well and still works afterwards??

I have just been involved in a trial of the Artemis Monitors, Artemis are the main UK distributors for Mindray. My understanding is that Artemis have the sole contract for Mindray Hospital monitoring. Penlon have the same monitors (just re-badged. Artemis are based in Dartford, their servicing has been amazing, they have a dedicated Central London Rep, who was available by telephone 24/7, and was able to assist/train the staff. We trialled the Pulse Oximeters, Their VS-800 NIBP Moitors and also some of the higher accuity monitors - They have really got a great product. Their monitors are pretty much the same as the Philips range, but prob half the price! In terms of service, Their guy came in and took apart the monitors, the Tech's all had a play, and put them together again. we were given a sheet of paper with all the prices for spares/repairs. I will deffo be asking for these monitors, and If anyone else wants their London contact for demo's/trials, Just shout!
Hope this helps guys!

Check out the Artemis website.

How's about Cardiac Recorders CR10, Simonsen & Weel Diascope 1. They were battle hardened, virtually nurseproof and drop tested many times over but still delivered the goods. You could also repair them when they eventually did need a bit of TLC!
Ahh the good old days.

You forgot to mention the old Albury, Graseby, Kontron, Medishield, Physio-Control and Rigel Research monitors there, Brian. And what about the newer ones like HME? And I still reckon that the S&W 3000 series ("cubes") were one of the best "classic" medical equipment designs ever!
