Alongside my greying beard is now 'link' blindness! wink

Kawasaki, I take your 'senior' to mean age rather than authority. wink

Absolutely John. I have found that there is an exponential link between the number of Senior Moments and age!!

Can't be the smoking, John, as you've given that up! Must be something else, then ... smile

Meanwhile, back at the topic ... yes, of course there should be parking provided for all hospital staff who need it, and I have always considered it very mean-spirited that patients and visitors are charged. After all, they're hardly likely to be there for pleasure, are they?

On the other hand, I notice that almost every young nurse seems to have a car these days. Some hospitals have a free bus pass arrangement with local bus companies, so perhaps this is the way to go. Personally, I always walk in to work (when I am indeed working), and enjoy it too. smile

You will notice that the new car park is being (jointly) run by a private company! Another example of privatisation by stealth.

Can anyone point to any area of life in Modern Britain where the so-called "General Public" doesn't get shafted? Sometimes I wonder how much people can really take (absorb, tolerate ... whatever). It seems to me like those in charge would like to reach that boundary too (the "sweet-spot"?). And then (hopefully) back-off a notch.

But I don't think we're quite there yet! After all, I'm still breathing. The camper-van has already gone, and the old P-reg Toyota might have to be next. Then I'll be spending what little I have left so they can't have any of it when I get posted to that biomed workshop in the sky! It's all a matter of prudent timing, I reckon.

Who was is who said (before me, that is) that Taxation is Theft? frown

Near as damn it Geoff!!!!
The price of fuel and the proposed vehicle licence hike seem to be causing a growing rumble of discontent that could reach breaking point soon.

A kingdom is governed by a king, an empire is governed by an emperor, so who governs a country?

Here in the "Shire" you can only park "On-Site" if your clinical staff..

In english.. a manager

That means some one who lives a 500 meters away can get a parking pass where be some one who lives 30miles away.. has to pay over £100 a year for parking which is about a mile away walk.
