Can anyone tell me if surgical LED lights are in widespread usage? If so what is the most common?

I believe we are about to have them fitted in to our PFI built hospital. As the supply of electrical power is part of the contract, one reason for choosing these is the low power consumption. But they have been tested and approved by the surgeons so the light output must be acceptable as well.
I think they are Trumpf (Kreuzer)systems but this is just picking up on word of mouth tales rather than being personally involved.

Brandon Medical in Leeds produce a LED surgical lighting system too. This is the newest on the market and I'm told has longer lamp life, lower tissue heating etc.

Thanks for this info Ben, I'm going to need it shortly in the course of a current 'surgical lighting project'.
Cheers
