Hi Jesse
I was in Qatar in 2003. Worked a short stint with Al-Dana Medical (J&J sterilizers). During that time, i remember a Yayah Taher (i think) in Hamad biomedical. There was this kabayan in biomedical who is always smiling and does lab work. Danny (names are a bit fuzzy) of the Engineering (A/C) helped me a lot with the install and delivery.
Yes the locals in Qatar are friendly, the immigration officer even greeted me in tagalog.
I just came from a long weekend and visited Toronto with my family. It's great to be away for while from hectic work. I guess your my kababayan, welcome and nice knowing you know some of friends in Biomed in Hamad General Hospital. Yes I know Yayah Taher, they were new when I met them fresh from school. Actually they are about 4 to5 Qataris that came. One of them is my previous trainee in Anesthetic and now the Director of Biomed in Hamad Hospital. They are a bunch of very nice people, we have such a good time taking time out all together in Biomed going to farther places I have never seen before like underground cave with fresh water!!! in the middle of the desert?. Thats was a long time and now they are running the department professionaly as trained. The smiling faces is the small but with big heart is Rey Asis. He was my friend and a trainer in Laboratory maintenance. He is such a an adorable guy that everyone like him until now. I know the original guys in Engineering way back in 1982. My family and I had such a nice memories of Doha.
Good luck to you and which hospital do you worked now?
I guess you should try Canada, we have great opportunities here Biomed guys like you. Today, I was told we need two more in our department but you have to be a resident or I mean immigrant.
Cheers
