Ferrites (or something similar), I should imagine, Quinny. Just another "after thought" by the sound of it. To my mind, anything like that should be placed inside the equipment (box) itself.

Although I must admit that I'm wondering if someone is winding you up, and these "boxes" are actually the dreaded power supply "bricks"!

Now about hair ... well, some of us older guys may well remember a certain RAF biomed tech who did in fact wear a hairnet whilst sleeping. I only heard about this some years later (that is, after wondering how it was that he had always looked so immaculate)! I can only assume that his girlfriends were very impressed. And no (in case you're all wondering), it wasn't JS! smile

No Honestly,
there are 2 tiny little plastic boxes (size of old fashioned match boxes) just after the bit that you plug into the device! the rep said something about "power surges", But what happens if this particular lead is swapped for any reason is that the machine wont charge.
This funnily enough was how i found out that the lead had been pinched and swapped.
The nurses were complaining to me that it wouldn't turn on.....(The fact that they had not plugged it in to actually charge it was cause number 1) Took a while for this to click admittedly.
I'm going to ask mole man about it next week.(hope i don't call him that inadvertently)
I have to admit that i wish that i had some form of technical training because i do believe that if i thought more like a Biomed and less like a nurse solutions would become more obvious to me.
I am not technically minded enough and this is a real handicap at times. But then that's why we have a Biomed dept because that is their job i know BUT not at night and at weekends it isn't.

Can i just add..."hairnets" and "shopping" I think that you should ask Hugh to launch a section on here for "HEALTH & BEAUTY"....because "Biomeds are worth it" type thing.

Just a suggestion....

There are plenty of other sites available if you want that sort of thing. And I'm hoping that Huw will agree.

I've only ever come across one Pulsion Picco, and can't remember much about the power cable. I was more interested in the smashed case lid at the time. But someone else may be able to advise.

And yes, that's what your biomed department is for. But if you or any of the users are not happy with the coverage they (your biomeds) give, there are contractors available who would be happy to quote for 24x7 service (as it always should be, in my opinion). smile

We are providing 24x7 service to all our users and that is something we can justify to be around, keeping our jobs.
Don't NHS provide this service?

Make the impossible POSSIBLE. I know we all can and it is the wisdom to distinguish one from the other.

I can tell that you don't know much about the British NHS, Roger. Let's just say that cover is patchy. That is, it may be available at some hospitals, others may operate an on-call system, whilst some are strictly 9-to-5, five days a week. This is part of the reason that I say "bring in the contractors, pay them well, and get the service you really want" (see the other current thread). smile
