Nice answers, guys (although it looks like EOL only mail to the UK). But for those of us not counted amongst the cognisenti, here is the difference between a hub and a switch (no, it has nothing to do with lights on push-bikes)!

As are most things that a heart can desire. Unfortunately (in my view), in the UK at least, one of the areas where eBay is a little weak is (yes, you've guessed it) medical equipment!

So Sudhir 3COM superstack, does it suit you. Not sure the freight cost justify for your purchase or not.

Or, better still, travel down to Biratnagar and pick it up from there!

Thank you guys for the answers. But 3COM Hub does not suit me as it is just used just as a repeater hub. The infinity serial hub is used as a main switching hub with Recorder CPS connected to it(recorder port). I could not find any hub or switch locally that has the recorder port. The 3COM hubs do not have the recorder port. So for my purpose only the Infinity serial hub is the answer. Any help is appreciated.

No chance of fixing the original, I suppose?

But a recorder CPS is just a power supply and network interface that connects a recorder to any ethernet hub to enable network printing.
Therefore, any ethernet hub or switch with RJ45 sockets will work.

Trouble is that Sudhir will need to be pretty much 100% certain that any substitute will work before he commits to ordering from outside Nepal. I guess what Sudhir really needs is for someone with the same set-up to try out a "generic" solution, then offer it to him as a "dead cert" (but cost-effective) package. Am I right, Sudhir? Any takers?

yes Geoff, absolutely right.I need to be 100% certain before i ask the hospital to order. Once purchased and if it does not work then i will have to bear the whole blame. As Bee Gee Pointed out, the Recorder he is talking about is R 50N which can be connected to RJ 45 socket. but they have a different recorder "R50" and this has a connection point only compatible with Infinity serial hub. the connection port has labelling as X7A and X7B. So any help guys.
