R50 recorders were the original 'old' recorder that required a separate CPS to enable network connectivity.
The CPS was configured with the relevant network information to enable connectivity between the recorder and the network.

R50's were very quickly superseded by the R50N network recorder, which enabled the recorder to be connected directly to any RJ45 network socket. These recorders could be configured directly with the relevant network information to ensure connectivity. In short the R50N did away with the CPS meaning that there was less H/W to install and was cheaper.

Infinity networks use the open standard TCP/IP protocol and therefore, there is nothing proprietary about how the network operates meaning that standard components can be sourced to ensure connectivity.

The problem here is that you have a first generation recorder.
You maybe better off by purchasing a replacement network recorder and adding this to your network. But, don't forget you will need to configure it with new network settings to ensure the network can 'see' it.

As a matter of interest, what sort of recording technology does (should) the recorder employ? Or does it just produce a strip output?

Meanwhile, any more clues here? smile

Hey Sudhir ... blame is one thing, having to pay for your mistakes is another. Tough it out, Mate!

Two channel thermal strip recorder.

R50N with network interface.
R50 without network interface.

Not often used due to laser printer offering better solution for bedside printouts and handling of alarms.

Yes, as I had imagined. So (Sudhir) why not simply remove this offensive device ... and substitute with something a bit more generic? smile

Thanks Bee Gee and Goeff for your valuable information.
I will have no other option besides asking them to purchase a new recorder if i do not find the alternative to this Infinity serial hub.
Yes it is a old system , as siemens monitoring system is taken over by Draeger Medical and they offer new ones these days.
So i just can hope that i can find a new Infinity serial hub otherwise the only solution is the one Bee Gee pointed out with new configuration in the networking system
