May I ask what type of crimping tools are you using now?

We have a hand held device bought from Oxylitre several years ago.
Has crimping swages in it.
you pump it closed, createing a hexagonal crimp from round the crimp and then press a trigger which releases the grip.
Works very well and the crimps definately cant be reused nor do they come loose.

We haven't got the kit as yet but I've been looking at this crimp tool http://www.airlines-pneumatics.co.uk/webcat/Detprod.asp?ProductCode=S080033. The ferrules etc we will get from Therapy so I know they are the correct ones for the Therapy hose.

Thanks but is it the one Karl is saying. I had a vice grip type but the crimping didn't appear to be presentable.

We use an Eastman Cam operated swage tool.
These come with range of crimp sizes.
Four crimps with the same crimp number are dovetaled into the slotted cam.
The Cam is closed pneumatically and crimps the ferrule.
They are big bench mounted bits of kit.
I have also seen similar crimping tools with a pump action in which the crimp load can be adjusted, maintained and calibrated.
Calibration certificates would of course require logging.

I was issued with an hydraulic hand held crimper purchased from oxylitre years a go, (I believe RS do one that appears to be the same) it’s a useful tool to have particularly as we are renewing more and more hoses owing to ‘age’
Oxylitre also provide training courses for their products as well as pipelines, they can also supply the anti confusion tooling on request.
