Good Day, one and all
Does anyone know where I can get paper/card inserts for the front and back of a CD case? I've been doing a lot of music downloading recently. I've got the CDs and burnt them (stupid expression), I've bought the SINGLE CD cases from Tesco (I'll have to order double CDs cases off the 'net), but I can't find BLANK CD inserts that I can write on in biro. I need the inserts that go into the front cover, and rear (tray) inserts for the spines (so you know what's on the CD when it's stacked nicely on the shelf). I've tried the 'net, but they all seem to be of the 'print your own inserts professionally' type, which is OTT for my purposes. Can anyone help? I've tried paper (80gsm), but it's too flimsy.

I had thought about it. I tried creating Inserts using an XL spreadsheet, them trying them out using bog-standard A4 paper. However, the finished articles are only as good as how well I cut the inserts out of the sheet of paper with a pair of scissors - and that was terrible! What would be perfect would be high gsm paper (or very thin card), enter data on a PC (in my case album title, artist, track details and band line-up) then use the PC's printer to print this on the heavier paper. I would have thought that someone would have been enterprising enough to have invented that. There must be MANY cases where a one-off cover for a CD (e.g. a music download) is required, whether it's fed through a PC printer, or is simply written on in biro.

I've used bog standard paper for this many a time. But it sounds like you must be more discerning than me. Why not purchase a paper guillotine? You can cut your paper/card to perfect size then. I've found the easiest way is to just buy the Blank CD's that come with the cases and card, in my experience trying to save money on things like this just generates more work for yourself.

I've used bog standard paper for this many a time. But it sounds like you must be more discerning than me. Yes, I probably am! Actually, I'm just trying to duplicate a CD that you buy in, say, a music shop. Why not purchase a paper guillotine? You can cut your paper/card to perfect size then. Yep, thought of that, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I've found the easiest way is to just buy the Blank CD's that come with the cases and card. In my experience trying to save money on things like this just generates more work for yourself. I have to say I've never seen that. In my case, all I've seen is stacks of 25 (or more) blank CDs on a 'spike' in shrink-wrap plastic AND packs of (usually) 10 empty CD cases. IF the situation exists that you can get a blank CD in a case WITH inserts (front and back), then yes, you're right, it would save a great deal of hassle. If you inform me as to WHERE I could get a CD/case/insert combination, I would show my appreciation in an alcoholic manner! Naitch

I think Avery might have the answer to your problem. Try www.avery.co.uk and look for product no. J8435-25 Should be a CD case insert printable on inkjet.

Yep, thought of that, but I'm not sure it's worth it. Paper Guillotine = less than £20 in Argos IF the situation exists that you can get a blank CD in a case WITH inserts (front and back), then yes, you're right, it would save a great deal of hassle. You can get them anywhere that sells blank CD's eg PCWorld, in fact I'd say they are more common than the type that come on the spindle.

Paper Guillotine = less than £20 in Argos. Never even considered Argos! Thanks for that Dog. You can get them anywhere that sells blank CD's, e.g. PCWorld. In fact, I'd say they are more common than the type that come on the spindle. I was in PC World about a month ago looking for inserts, and the ONLY thing resembling them was what you suggested, BUT they were Slim-Line cases, which don't have a tray sheet, and are so thin, the spine is worse than useless. The data on the on-line site seems to confirm this, but I'll go out to one of the two PC World's we've got and see what's what. Thanks for all your help. The Naitch.

Jarir book store in Jeddah KSA sells them! On a serious note there are loads of companies listed in the back of "Sound on Sound" magazine specialising in blank CD's and full 2-16 page inserts!

I must admit its been quite a while since I've bought any, so I guess the standard stock shops carry may have changed. Hope you find something suitable.
