It never hurts for us to be reminded of our duty of care and responsibilities, especially as we grow older and our grey matter diminishes.

I used to run Introduction to X-ray Technology courses at the RMCS in Shrivenham, but that facility is no longer available. If there was sufficient interest, it would be possible to set something up in the London area. If you are interested, if you let me know, we can try to work out the details.

It's a nice idea, Brian. I believe that the need is there (for an occasional course, at least). But surely you'd need to charge the earth just to cover the insurance premiums!

Why not set up in some sunny place overseas? That way, I would be happy to come and join you myself. And who knows, perhaps we could even persuade Keith to get involved?

I also ran the course a number of times in Ankara University, I could ask, but I think that it would be even more expensive!
To be serious it should be possible to run it at a cost in line with other courses run for the Health Service, but it would depend on the numbers enrolled.

Frankly Brian, I believe that the real, and far greater, need is for training of techs overseas.

Let the mighty (and well endowed) NHS fend for itself!

And as for your second comment (about charities arranging training) ... well, all I can say is "get real"!

Don't give up hope, I have run courses both for overseas students in the UK and in their own countries, all funded by charities. It seems to be the smaller charities who are most willing to take on this sort of thing, possibly because the smaller charities are closer to the ground!
