But regarding your comments about "crisis point" (and similar):- in my (long) experience, most of that stuff is self-inflicted, believe me.
If biomeds hadn't always been, shall we say, a bit too weak (or, if you prefer,
accommodating) there would not be so many fifty-year-old plus basket cases around as there are.
My advice is to find a way of coming to terms with it all, and do the work you love to do (hint: it may
not be biomed). But if you must continue working at a hospital, just do what you can, refuse to be pressured, and let "them" do what the [censored] they want!
You can't fight them all; there are too many of them (and believe me I know ... I've tried, many times)! They are wrong, and we are right. But they will always "win".
Remember, you only get the one life. It is only short. So
live it ... but on your own terms!
