Hello All,

Does anyone know of an alternative supplier of Desflurane anaesthetic agent apart from Baxter.
I aware Baxter loans vaporisers as long as you buy their agent. We currently have TEC6 vaporisers and are buying our agent from Baxter however we are finding it difficult to obtain replacement vaporisers from them and I just wondered if there was alternative supplier.

I still think its under its patent period and you can only buy it as Suprane from Baxter. Its something like 7 years before the generic version is available. bnf.org is my usual reference point

I think the understanding is if you (your trust) can proove you need more they suply them and monitor consumption.
If consumption doesnt increase they may ask for them back.
Never had a problem here.
