Yes we have had the problem too. We have one Trim II that is 5 months old and the lead near the PIM failed. Philips Medical swapped it out under warranty and I also mentioned that the holder for it is a poor design. They said they were looking into changing the design of that in the near future.

If the module just stops working, there's a small satelite board inside which shakes loose when the module is dropped. They are re-designing the whole module to get rid of this extra board - apparently. Hopefully that will improve reliability - and reduce cost of ownership !

yes we have had several problems with the trim II we have two in A & E, and both have had there PIM module replaced on more than one ocasion the worrying thing is that you have no indication of PIM failure unless you go into service menu. If you follow these instructions you can access service utility screen.. Boot machine from cold and hold down left control and shift keys together and trim knob, you will then be asked for password type 1573 and you will see a window called pim status check there you will see if the lead has failed. and is the only way you can check by swapping with another lead or pim block. the MHRA have been informed of these premature failures of the PIM module and PHilips KNow there is a design fault in the module regarding early failures. they never tested them in a hospital situation with real nurses.
