Yes, surely good answer! I guess we will be able to gauge a committed person through commitment on family matters.
I guess workplace is your second home after family.

I normally ask them to choose between the family or the job if it means they have to make a decision during an emergency situation. I think I see what you're getting at ... but perhaps you could have phrased the question a little better. For instance, what's an "emergency situation" got to do with it? 
If you don't inspect ... don't expect.

Perhaps I should have put it this way - choose between your family or your job and they both needed you at the same time.
