Hello Hugo
Drager engineers in the UK have a very comprehensive manual on their laptops i do not think it is available unless you have done their full training, the strange error code means something to this program.
I am expecting to see one of the Drager chaps this week i will try to find out what this error means.

no I am not saying that so don't twist things around Mr porter, but there are legal implications
In the western world so sure, in the middle east I have to confirm that if you are found to be neligent then I don't know the consequences but you tell me?

What you guys may not realise (or didn't till now) is that Hugo already has the best Julian .pdf manual known to be in the er, public domain. An ex-Drager tech was able to help there, and I (we) thank him for that. But (as Hugo has mentioned), even that manual is not exactly "easy reading" and may appear to have "bits missing". So ... he is not exactly groping in the dark here, and any guidance would, no doubt, be greatly appreciated. So Lee ... when this Drager chap appears, don't let him leave the building without full "chapter and verse", so we can (at last) get this one sorted, one way or another.

But Umish I hope for simple calibration of Pressure transducer and O2 cell donot need a formal training .Yes he/she be careful (Not to do)when it comes to fidling with calibrated pressure regulators or sort of things like that.

I trained in Biomedical engineering way back in 1984 in England, at that time there it was a requirement that any Life support equipment should have formal training. No if's or but's.
A technican or a Supervisor who allows a technican to work on Life Support equipment would be held responsible, In the event of a patient injury or death. Due to miscalibration or incorrect part assembly this is classed as neglience if found guilty then you could be prosecuted in the court. The manfacterer of the equipment hold training records.
Don't try to be a hero Don't listen to Cowboy's look after your won welfare no will hold your hand in court!
Ask for training, if you insist they will give it to you.

... at that time there it was a requirement that any Life support equipment should have formal training. No if's or but's. Says who? Would you rather that Hugo's machine simply sat in a corridor at the back of the hospital gathering dust for ten years (before being cannibalized, scrapped or simply chucked out)? Whose interests would be being served then? Certainly not the patient in need. We all know what the "ideal" situation is. That is, everyone goes away for training every fortnight. But who is "they" to whom we can "insist"? Just imagine that Hugo is an independent service provider, rather than a hospital staffer.

I wonder what would happen if someone who hadnt had the right training and did calibrate something as per instructions from another person on this forum and the piece of kit involved did kill someone and upon police (or whoever)investigation the person who did the work quoted advice from the other person on this forum. Could that person be held responisible, one things for sure you cant hide behind some alias. They can upon request get hold of everyones ID, email etc. etc. Just a thought? But im sure thats why the manufactuers of kit dont give info out willy nilly. And im sure thats why Urmish could have a valid point that shouldnt be dismissed quite so abruptly guys. To use the keeping kitin use approach. Does that mean you'd give access codes and cal data to nurse jones in theatres in order to keep the kit in use at all times?

Bad news about the patient. But what's the worse case scenario for the "advisor"? Even Chemical Ali could only be hung once! Meanwhile, if the manufacturers are really so thoughtful and caring, let's invite them to take a view about who they should be lending a hand to. And ... if offering to help people is now being "frowned upon" here ... well, we may as well wrap up the forum all together, then. Especially as every other post these days seems to be an appeal for help in one form or another. Usually for manuals, in actual fact. How about it Huw (John)? Are you covered (insured)? Personally, I don't mind going away, crawling back under my stone, and doing what I can "elsewhere". At my stage of the game, I can certainly do without the "hass", as it were.

To use the keeping kit in use approach. Does that mean you'd give access codes and cal data to nurse jones in theatres in order to keep the kit in use at all times? Sometimes those sort of decisions need to be faced up to. It really depends upon factors like how many patients are piling up outside the door. @Neil No thanks Mate. We have enough new laws coming out every day as it is.
