No mate One of the best contracts I ever Did. Happy Days.

For what it's worth (and that ain't a lot) it was always my aim to set up biomed tech services as a co-operative. But it never happened. Why? Well, let's say that I've never been lucky enough to come across enough decent (honest) blokes like Good Old Tony!

The other reason can be boiled down to that single word trust. I have found that many otherwise first class techs just haven't been equipped (mind-set, and all that) to really believe that there are people around who were actually willing to be open minded, to share, and not simply out to screw them. Alas, such is the legacy of the last thirty or forty years of Modern Britain.

But don't worry, that (that is, the Band of Brothers) ain't gonna happen now. Not at my (our) stage of the game, and certainly not in the "dog eat dog", "out for themselves", "screw everyone else" and "let's make big bucks" etc. climate of greed that seems to be common currency amongst (especially) the younger generation of techs.

I wonder which approach Jandre has in mind?

There were glossy brochures printed at (not so) great expense, Mate. In fact I still have the text to hand. I may have already mentioned that "the other guy" had the cheek recently to insist that it was he who drafted them, but you and I would both know otherwise. I'm not sure why he still believes that (after all this time), especially as it matters not one jot now. But, as I have been known to remark, we all have our own versions of reality!

The daft thing is (or was) that he then went on to become "hoist by his own petard" when he wanted me to write some more (oh yes, for a new brochure). I looked at the originals (yes, dating back to 85-87) and announced that they're still OK pretty much as they stand. But then I advised:- forget brochures, and set up a website!

Looking back on all that now, it's clear that the real reason for our inability to "pursue other projects" was the usual one (and the one that has plagued me all my life) ... simply "lack of funds". I had a mortgage - and a hefty overdraft - (not to mention kids to feed) back in those days, after all.

And, of course, you need to have that other essential ingredient - luck!

We live in a new age where even the most remote places has a modicum of support. For those who want to know, I have been around since I left the UK in 2008. So far as Madagascar and even there my gear was all ready and waiting.

The principle is that I run a company outside the UK so I am no competitor. My work is interesting and as I have been masterminding big deals for the big EBME players in Europe in the past, I now do so for myself, but with the difference that I contribute to Biomed's financial gain instead of some forlorn shareholder who's face I've never seen.

Those that work with me always come back for more. Simple as that
