One of my early threads, then. smile

Yes old, but good (unlike me, well the latter anyway).
Weston-Super-Mare had its good points as did Reading & Wokingham.
The former adjacent technical training establishment is closed now, the latter is I believe (un)*fortunately open.

Serving / Ex-serving members may wish to annotate according to their experience.

Perhaps we can add, drifting off topic (and reminiscing) to the list of pet hates, or should that be favourite subjects.

My pet hates include folk that spend all day at work writing posts of the EBME forum for stuff that isn't remotely work related of which I've came across a few in my time. All it'll succeed in going is having over zealous IT bods blocking access to the site.

PS I'm not having a go at anyone here so don't anyone take offence guys :-)

I can see the problem. whistle

Luckily it's one of the few that those of us who toil away for long hours in the private sector don't need to worry about!

There are no IT types here (zealous or otherwise) I'm pleased to say. smile

The forum heading says "Free discussion" - work related?

Hmmm, over zealous IT bods.... thank goodness the ones were I work are great, perhaps you know them already!
Try to cultivate a work-life balance, where one can contribute positively and maintain a sense of humour over all things work related. Ignore attempts by those who wish you to conform to their "ideals"
The best thing a about this site and the majority of contributors are that they dont take themselves too seriously.

Perhaps we should ban jokes/son of jokes because they are not "work related" postings.
Better still, just add "zealots" of all descriptions to pet hates (gets my vote).
Feel free to post, non work related jokes and topical comments views whenever you want , its all informative and often entertaining.
Free speech, people have died to preserve it , as we approach November it is well to remember this fact.... Oh sorry! Not work related.........

I'd like to quote from my own previous post:-

But honestly some folk are just so easy to wind up LOL.

Ban Jokes? They are often some of the best posts!

Nice to see you extract yourself from that one. When in trouble make smoke or eject chaff to cover your tracks (or your viewpoint).
