The "grim reaper' rears his head again, many of our 1 to2 year old Colleague pumps are now exhibiting signs of rapidly reducing illumination of the display, only under subdued lighting conditions are some readily viewable!

Is this yet another failing of the "beast'? mad

Do you have any experience of this problem, if so what was the remedy?

No doubt this is yet another money making design fault by the manufacturer. Am I a cynic - no - no - who me – noooooo! frown

Also sad to say, our one and only Colleague 3 has now gone back "under warranty' because of serious under-infusion, and that's with the latest – adjusted – solution sets! confused

Ahhhhhhhhhhh the Vikings come to mind!

I must include a word about our fellow sufferers at – don't say it too loudly – SALTHOUSE RD – I can't say enough about the help they have given me with our seemly on going problems – many thanks chaps. smile

They must read our postings – mustn't they? laugh

It has been very interesting to read all the problems people have had with these infusion pumps. We at The Royal London Hospital have also had headaches with these pumps.

I tried to order an AIL sensor because we seem to be having AIL problems with quite a few pumps. I was told that an AIL sensor is not sold seperately, and have to buy a repair exchange PHM.

We are still having problems with negative flow rates from Baxter Colleague pumps. Is appears that the flow rates are going more negative as the the pumps age. Has anybody any more new info on this?

Philipr,

If you have evidence to support your findings, i would take the advice and suggestion of the earlier postings, and reprot it to the MDA (now MHRA), to record your complaint and take the appropiate action.

I do recall however since my initial posting (several months ago) there have been several hazard warnings relating to Baxter pumps. Not sure if directly related to the Colleague one though. It would be worth while checking with the MHRA website for the latest postings/hazard notices.

Keep us informed with your progress.

Chris-H
