Is that a statement of a fact or a request for assistance?

Error 3 : The voltage of the high voltage cap dropping sharply after charging.

Is the charge lamp lit?
Yes: check contacts of the cap
No: Replace the HV cap.

WARNING: HV caps can contain voltages >5kV!!!!

(To clear error messages: Press Charge key while pressing cal key.)

Thank you very much for the assistance, before clear the error message, the charge didn“t works.
After clear the error messages, the charge works ok but the defibrillator charge itself and discharge alone too! thats is very strange, the swiches are ok.
Could you give me a suggestion about this problem?

It could be anything.

How accurate are the outputs? All +- 10%?
What is the AC only charge time to 360J (9.3-9.7 secs)
Which model is your defib?

I had another look through the service manual and there is no 'check-list' that could assist. I cant see anything that could even resemble a suggestion of what caused your initial fault.

MMM,
Should we be giving out details like this over the net?
Anyone could use them.
Maybe better via secure email.
Comments please.

hello to everyone
I think that this kind of information is usefull to us (biomeds) and I dont think that anyone could use them in a wrong way. For instance, I have a similar model working fine but the same fault could occur any time. Reading this might help me one day on the spot. I dont think that exchangeing info and experiances 0f this kind on the net could harm anyone.
best regards
Milan

Alejandro,Sorry for the late reply.

1. Error 3 can be cleared by re-boot the unit.
a.Turn unit power OFF by the
i) Main power switch
ii) Energy Select Dial
Wait for 5 seconds
b. Turn the unit power ON by the
i) Main power switch
ii)Energy Select Dial
If the ERROR message is still present
c. Press the CHARGE Key while pressing CAL KEY. If the Error message is still present go to Step 2.

2. Its internal relay RLY 501 in High Voltage Board may be faulty.

Error 1,2,3 & 4 will appear if your unit is kept near X ray machine, generator or high speed motor so keep unit away from high noise level surroundings.

PM me if you required more assistance.

Alejandro

The only defib I ever saw charge when its charge button is pressed, then immediately "discharge" itself with no human touching was when a defib overcharged. The over voltage protection circuit cut in to prevent the capacitor from exploding.

You DEFINITELY need a service manual in a language you can entirely understand. Don't try anything in the meantime or you could land up being the first EBME website registered techie to die on the job, I kid you not.
