So, I (for one) would be interested in just what Biff has asked but am not altogether surprised by the lack of reply as I suspect it is still a technology that has not yet found it's day. We know, in theory, the potential benefits of RFID but has any one actually done it? If so, what uses has it been put to and what outcomes were achieved?

If you check aeroscouts web page there are case studies, the big question is how much equipment and which type do you tag, non-static equipment should be tagged if you are going to use the system, but do you use a minimum value before you tag, questions and more questions. Do you tag for location purposes or theft?
If you think hiring professionals is expensive, try hiring amateurs!

We know, in theory, the potential benefits of RFID but has any one actually done it? Care to remind us again what those are? There has been a fair amount of discussion on this topic. Hint: Mr.Moderator has thoughtfully provided a facility where you can search for earlier topics!
If you don't inspect ... don't expect.

We are about half way through a roll out of a trust wide Ekahau system, and have to say that its proving useful already. Lots of projects on the horizon with it to take forward. :O)

What site in the UK have sucessfully implented RFID tagging? I believe Maidstone and Pembury have had RFID running for a while - but this is second hand knowledge. RoJo
My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

We have RFID running here in Newcastle, we used it for our scanners and highly valuable equipment.

Hi All,
I see Aeroscout and Ekahau systems being mentioned and would be glad if members can share some of the ups and downs of your installed system in particular the reliability to accurately track locations, the pros and cons, etc and also if they are integrated into your Medical Equipment Maintenance Database.
Thanks and regards Roger
