Hi All

Has anyone had any dealings, good or bad, with this Southend-on-Sea Endoscope repair company.

Any other comments?

I am fully aware of the "deal with Keymed only or you will be damned forever" school of thought.

Hi Grahame,

Had no dealings with the company you've asked about but we have used Lidsay Surgical for a lot of our scopes and had no problems. If it's any help www.surgicalsuppliesuk.com.

If they used to be called MDS then ESL, then yes. But to be fair I won't put any comments on an open forum. If you want to email me or call me I'll disscuss it.

Been using them for ad hoc repairs and some maintenance contracts for the last couple of years and have no problems with them

Been dealing with them for the past 2 years, absolutely fab!

In order to save costs, we run a 3 tier approach.

Tier 1: Newer devices are placed on the keymed contract

Tier 2: As devices reach a pre-set age (you choose) we decide that its like flogging a dead horse and they will only be technically viable for so much longer.. Get moved to the TBS (GE) contract for a substantial saving. However be warned that bad missuse may result in a bill as the advantage contract is not as substantial as a Keymed one.

Tier 3: These are the devices that should have been sold with Noah's ark. 'When they are gone, they are gone'. We drop them off the TBS contract in the hope that the Trust will fund their replacement. After all we dont find many people wanting to pay thousands for a repair on a 18 year old scope.

The customer service of TBS have always been helpful, chatty and willing to go out of their way to assist. Turn around times are very good for repairs and their prices are very competetive.
