Slightly random question this, it's outside my normal remit and I suspect outside the remit of others on here, but I was asked to look into it so I thought I'd put it out there:
Does anyone know of a supplier of latex-free biopsy needle guide kits that fit a GE E8C ultrasound probe?
The problem the staff have is that the kits they get currently have the needle guide and a latex sheath in the same packet, this apparently means they cannot use the guide on a latex allergic patient even if they obtain a latex-free sheath.
I've looked up a few different suppliers, including GE's own supplier Civco, but none seem to do a latex-free kit for the E8C, although they have them for other probe types.
The other option would be if there is any company that supplies a kit with the sheath in its own sealed packet, then it could be discarded and a latex-free sheath substituted.
I'm not holding my breath on this one as it's outside our normal stomping ground, but if anyone knows anything it would be appreciated.
