Hi all,

I am looking for the most efficient possible method of doing electrical safety tests on large numbers of assets (EST only, no performance verification required).

Top runner at present is the Rigel 288 with bluetooth attached label printer (and perhaps/probably the bar-code reader).

Anyone using this set-up and if so, any comments/advice you might like to share?

I used to use this set up - once set up was done it all went well, and the good thing about it was the fact you couldnt print a label if it didnt pass. You can print the equipment asset number as well- so it was tied to this equipment. In year two scan the barcode into the 288 and all the details are recalled.

Hye.. i'm also using Rigel288 and its really help especially when high numbers of Equipment need to be tested. Its also easy to print with using the bluetooth printer.

Hi, No one has mentioned; uploading the results to a database or attaching the results to the asset, Is anyone doing this? If so how?

Omhman, we are in the process, just waiting for the new recruit as we need to have 2 dedicated guys working on the asset management programme, we never again want to rely on the IT department for anything.
Dave, thanks for the tip, just ordered 2 print and tag printers from Rigel, this will make life easier and more professional.

Geoff, that is what we are planning, but we will use our own asset management programme and use the Rigel hardware including printers.

I'm interested in the file format that Rigel uses for data exchange. As I mentioned before, I think it may be something to do with this.

No but it,s bloody cold, temperature has dropped below 80, at what temperature can I expect snow. Rigel data can be exported in excel format.

You might need to head a little further north before you can try out your skis I expect, Neil. Tabuk, maybe. Or south (Baha and beyond, if you're lucky). But didn't it also snow a bit in Riyadh a few years ago? Not sure. But it certainly wasn't unknown in Amman.

Meanwhile, more of the white stuff is being forecast again here in Good Old (for some, that is) Blighty.

Yes. Excel, and CSV as well (I suspect). But I'm wondering about the native format.
