In case anyone was wondering (as I was) about "who makes what":-

The Irish respiratory device company Caradyne was founded in 1998. It was acquired by Respironics in 2004.

Respironics had released the world’s first commercially available CPAP device in 1985. It acquired Novametrix in 2002.

Respironics was acquired by Philips in 2008.

Does anyone see a pattern emerging here? think

"Criterion" seems to be a model name (that was) favoured by Caradyne, and is still used within the "Caradyne family" of products now marketed by Philips-Respironics.

The "OxiCheck" remains listed (and still carries the Caradyne name - on the website, at least) - but I have yet to hound down the origin of the sensor! Any more clues on the sensor (marking) itself, Adrian?

But meanwhile, as the OxiCheck is designed to spot check oxygen concentration, I'm getting the vibe that it is intended to be disposable. That is, to be binned once the sensor dies. frown

There are only a few actual manufacturers of oxygen cells in the world. The rest are just rebadged standard products or the manufacturers make them specifically for the company concerned. IF it is the latter case you might be stuck with the high price.

My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

Yes. That's why it's best to stick to "common or garden varieties" available from well-known UK suppliers! smile

The OxiQuant S (that's the small one, at the bottom) used to be available from ProAct. smile

Here is the sensor (cell) ... which is (was*) also available from ProAct.

That quote must be for the complete OxiCheck, rather than just the cell. frown

* It was listed in their 2011 catalogue.
