Hi,
Does anyone know what the service precedure is for the annual routine testing of vaccine fridges? I am having trouble finding anything regarding what is required.

Testing or servicing? think

1) Thermometer for checking the temperature
2) Blower for blasting the tumbleweed out from the back
3) (if moveable) Dustpan and brush for cleaning up the mess underneath and behind
4) Suitable cleaning materials (if you're so inclined)
5) Check mains cable and plug (and fuse)
6) Carry out electrical safety test (of course)

If you don't inspect ... don't expect.

You could swap the Thermometer for a temperature logger and check it's behaving over a long period of time.

Geoff,

I was referring to the annual inspection that is often part of service visits carried out in GP surgeries. From the prices I have seen quoted, I can't see that it will be too involved - probably something along the lines of the points you have highlighted in your post.

If that. Probably more like just a sticker (but that's only if you're lucky). whistle

Money for old rope. But I suppose that "all is well" as long as the boxes get ticked (and the pretence of "good governance", "duty of care", "regular maintenance" etc., etc. is maintained). frown

BTW: blowers are apparently "frowned upon" by many these days. The reason (excuse) being the "risk" involved in blowing particles of [censored] into the air. Airborne pathogens! And before someone shouts "vacuum cleaner" - yes, but they often don't get the job done, in my experience. So I still say:- blast away, then clean up afterwards. And wear a mask when necessary.

If you don't inspect ... don't expect.
