Is there a fool proof, all singing and all dancing, proven, simple working, problem free, system that is not web based that can also accommodate RFID, GS1 and purchasing systems such as Oracle?
Happy Friday everyone.

It depends what you mean by "accommodate" ... link to, using data in a common field? think

Meanwhile, folk I am in touch with in other parts of the world are still talking about GMDN; others seem committed to UMDNS. How many "universal" coding systems do we need? duck

OK ... but what is the WHO saying? smile

GMDN: Global Medical Device Nomenclature System

UMDNS: Universal Medical Device Nomenclature System (based on the old ECRI Codes)

Just a quick update on this.
We have had a rep from F2 come in and show us the system. Its good, and its everything you need and more. The beauty is that should you not require all of it then you deselect it. Another bonus is should any other user of F2 come up with a Eureka idea, this will be developed and offered to all users without charge. Its tailor made to what you require and has many benefits. I would very much like to see it within my trust.

Just to let you know we are switching away from F2 after a short time using it. The promised developments and corrections never occurred. And to get data out you have to ask F2 to write a report for you, which takes time.
And the data structure is wierd. Such as there is no relationship between ward areas and the hospitals they are in. And the way devicves are related to manufacturers seems upside down to us.

My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

PS e-Quip - before any one asks what we are moving to

Are you still "implementing" (lumbered with) GMDN, Robert ... or was that during one of your "previous lives"? think

If you don't inspect ... don't expect.
