Hi,

I have a question about the future of Philips' Data Export Interface.

For those of you familiar with the interface, it is basically a serial protocol that allows you to stream data from Intellivue devices.

I stumbled upon the latest version of the documentation for the Data Export Interface, and I see that it is only valid for Software Version < L:

Quote:
This Programming Guide is for use with the Philips IntelliVue X2, MP Series and MX Series patient monitors... It describes the functionality in the IntelliVue monitor software version ≤L.xx.xx and the Avalon monitor software version >=J.3.

Why would Philips write that it only works for software versions LESS THAN L?

My only guess is that newer versions of Intellivue monitors won't support the interface. Is Philips migrating away from this protocol (to something else?)...?

Anybody here have any insight on this? I sent an email to someone I know at Philips, but not sure if I'll hear back. I suspect that some Philips employees frequent this board, so I thought I'd reach out.

The reason I ask is that I am selling a small product that uses this protocol, and it'd be good for me to plan for future changes.

Thanks!

Could it simply be that revision L has not yet been released (and revisions M, N etc. have not even been coded), so they are just covering their [censored]? think

On the other hand, those more cynical than me might wonder if it's because of what you've mentioned in your last statement ... in other words, an attempt to snuff out any green shoots of competition. Such things are not uknown, unfortunately. frown

Hi!

I am looking into ways of getting ECG waves (time, amplitude), events and alarms information out of Philips patient monitors connected to an Intellivue iX central station via LAN.

I have found a few programs, please comment if you have any experience with them (which is the best option) or a better solution you've used. smile

1. Philips offers Data Warehouse Connect (supposed to have replaced the old software for data export), but I have not found much information about it - e.g. can data be anonymized with it, is there anywhere I can access the System Administration Guide, can I make free text notes that stay with the data via the web server?
2. ixTrend by ixellence - on the webpage they say it costs over 2000 eur per monitor and that is just too expensive, are there any good options that are cheaper?
3. MediCollector Bedside is 1400 dollars and looks like it is just one computer connected with one bed, but I need over 10 beds to be monitored and data to be saved in a central server solution.
4. Intensive Care Window - no information about the costs.
5. Capsule - it is a bit unclear as to what they are offering and for what price.
6. ...?

So, yeah, if you have any experience with data export with these programs from Philips patient monitors, I would be very grateful for any comments/feedback! smile
