Hi all

During Covid our trust bought a large number of the Armstrong Aquavent humidifiers, probably because we could not get any F&P ones at the time. Since then we have had to replace many more of the temperature probes than I would expect. In the normal course of events you expect the distal (remote) probe to end up on the floor now and then, and to get broken from being run over or trodden on. However we are seeing cracks in both the remote probe and the one that plugs into the chamber, which cant really end up on the floor as the lead isnt long enough.
We have reported this to Armstrong, who are going to investigate, but was was wondering if anyone out there is seeing the same problem.

Has anyone else seen this issue above? This has reached epidemic proportions now, and we are spending a fortune on replacement probes.
Ive contacted Armstrong and the manufacturers in Taiwan, but so far no indication as to what will be done about it.
Ive also reported to the MHRA as there is a possibility that part of the cracked blue covering of the probe could be pushed into the patients airway by the ventilator.
I cant believe that we are the only trust thats bought these humidifiers.
