Thanks for your interest, vitapablo. Can I ask what you mean when you say "CEP 80151". Is that an old Centre for Evidence-based Purchasing report, or something else?
Firstly, I have litle experience of the tendering/procurement process, but I have heard this before about specs being written to exclude all but a preferred bidder. Not sure I understand your points about 'fuzzy logic' and 'prohibited states'. I think you're saying that because we may not know all the potential solutions for our need, we might inadvertantly exclude something suitable because we would write a spec that didn't account for an alternative approach?
I think you might be expecting rather too much from a undergraduate engineers with little understanding of the healthcare environment. If I can get them to realise that there are considerations other than technical effectiveness that affect a decision to use/not use, then I'll be winning.
However, I will do my best in future to incorporate examples from the equipment management/procurement side, whereas I've been restricted in the past to national HTA-type examples.

Exact. There was a great job done. That even after time and in a very different country, it is very indicative.

Thanks Pablo. CEDAR (where I work) used to produce some of those CEP reports. However, there was no official archive and they aren't available anywhere on the internet. We have some copies but not that one. CAnyou tell me the topic or (preferably) send me a copy?
