We call ourselves Electronic & Biomedical Engineering. i.e. EBME
Is this the norm? or Does EBME mean something else to your department.

There seems to be many different titles for the same job. I use the description Medical Electronics. It would be interesting to find out what is the most common department name.

It's a good point, especially as to where our future placement within the grand NHS plan takes us.
Now is probably a good a time to define what we are. I know there are different fields and categories within departments but surely an all encompassing "title" would only benefit us as we market ourselves.
After all a physiotherapy, radiology or ECG department seems to have a national/universal department name so why shouldn't we eek
For the record we are an EBME department but I have worked in Medical Enginnering. Medical Electronics, Electronics, Clinical Engineering, Biomed and Medical Equipment departments - a bit strange as they all did the same jobs rolleyes

We are Clinical Engineering but I thought the purpose of ''Making the Change'' was to identify what we do through occupational mapping and then everyone will have a standard to work to. Another thought will life be boring if we are all the same? laugh
