I'll explain a bit the situation.

We have 3 transport incubators. They are built on Ferno stretchers. Here's a pic that's almost similar to what we have:

There have been incidents of the stretcher collapsing. This transport incubators are about 10 years old. So it would be time to solve the problem of them collapsing, at least that one.

We were thinking of going with stryker, but they only offer a "one on top of the other" model. Here's a pic to explain what I mean:

They refuuse of making any changes to there configuration.

And the nurses here and doctors, absolutely want the side by side configuration like they have now with Ferno. I have to agree that it's a lot more practical.

Now my question. Does anybody have transport incubator and would wanna share their setups? Or does anyone know of other companies for stretchers that can accept transport incubators?

If needed I'll give more details about our system. But I don't wanna bore you with all of that for now.

Thanks in advance!

Mike,
The NICU at this hospital and others in our local network have come up with a joint solution which has a crash tested trolley custom built in Birmingham UK. www.paraid.co.uk/medical/neonatal.html
If you send a private message with your email address I will send by return the current pictures as attachments for you and the staff to look at.
It will not directly solve the problem as we have much more equipment on board and the trolley is built in the UK but may open the way to other alternatives and act as a starting point for discussion/ compromise.
It is not an easy one to crack but Paraid have been very helpfull

Thanks for the pics Jill.

It will help out on some levels of the configuration. But we need the longer stretchers with retractable legs since our ambulances only accept that type.

Any else have transport incubators and would wanna share their configurations?
