As an update to our use of the T34, we have now had them for one year with only 2 faults reported, one down to user misuse. The response from McKinley has been pretty good.
Only thing we are still waiting for is the docking station which seems to have been held up.
We have now persuaded Elderly Medicine and Community to change from the MS26 to the T34.
With regard to the Alaris AD, we looked at this and found the same as commented above. In addition, the main problem that we found was that you have to enter the syringe volume (the T34 works this out for you) and then the AD will only calculate the infusion rate to one decimal place after inputting the infusion time (typically 24 hours). Because of this limitation and the fact that the infusion rate is rounded up, the pump will then add/subtract on time to the infusion time to take into account the calculated infusion rate eg. 18ml delivered over 24 hours = 0.75 ml/hr. This is rounded up to 0.8ml/hr over a time of 22.5 hours!!
