As Geoff hinted, many service manuals do not recommend a service interval - only a method of service. Some manuals do not even give a service method. In these cases a reasoned judgement must be made as to how reliability and safety is achieved. Geoff's suggestion, based on empirical evidence, whether carried out by our colleagues across the water or by consensus with other professionals, seems to make good sense.
