I think that you may be jumping the gun a bit here. There is no agreement on whether our job will be a part of the "Clinical Technologist" professional grouping yet. If you read the proposed prospectus that the IPEM have written for the CT degree, you will find that a lot of it is not relevant to our job. If we can only employ bona fide CTs then we will have to retrain them to work on equipment. It may be best to wait until things are clarified then we can work on the most appropriate training for new staff.
If you want to read the proposed prospectus, have a look at the IPEM website under Clinical Technologists, unfortunately I don't have the link to hand at the moment. I think it would be agood idea for everyone to at least skim the document to see what the proposed CT grouping includes.
