I am afraid that 'er indoors would put her foot down with a firm hand on that one. I just about alowed to play around on the PC and some model making. I contact friends abroad these days by E-mail, I am sure working on HF is so much different today than in the old days. I can tell you some real horror stories from my 5 years at sea, mind you the runs ashore more than made up for the rotten times at sea, with a few exceptions, Murmansk in January left a fair bit to be desired, but all in all they were happy days, not least because I was in my early 20s.
