Dell's advertised special offfer models are tremendous value. However I've heard that when you get on the phone to them and start discussing maybe getting a bit more memory or a faster processor the price gets ratcheted up because it becomes a "special" build, no longer one of the offer machines. So maybe get them to email a spec and price and compare and consider it off the phone.
