Geoff , we will dispense with modesty just this once OK for you and tell you.
Starting in with Geema Tecnical in 1992 and ever since with Idustrial Divivng Services Ltd (plenty of medical devices here) and B D and C Tool Hire 21(not so many here but good fun) and a few other ventures in the Geema Group of companies, the Magee family have funded scholarships in engineering based study.
We have tried, failed and sometimes succeeded on a spectacular basis with training and education , two of our young techies own their own companies and work in the health sector one has left engineering all together and one manages the largest UK division of an electrical power distribution company
This was prompted by the fact that every one the Mr Magee brothers passed the then scolarship and went on to then what considered the best grammar school in the north east.
A fair amount of their school chums parents paid for their kids to be there and they thought this most unfair, most were thick they said , accountant and solicitor fodder , some were brilliant and innovative and drank a lot like them, they decided if ever they became financially able , they would support those less fortunate.
Present day on the non retired engineering front, the new Mr Magee Senior you know him as Darren simlply carries on the good work of his Dad, with companies in the health sector as you know.
So we do talk some but we have done a bit too.
We employ lots of young and lots of old peole too.
A good idea, try asking our government or the NHS ?
That other site CEN only one year old, ebme big brother does not allow it a mention on this site , was born to help Biomeds , Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering students and pay for good causes too.
To this end, Mr Magee has formed one and aquired another networking company as a commercial arm to support link up sites of that nature on a global basis as Marcelo suggests, certainly the way forward.
On the funny side, I hope you know Geoff education and training is high on our agenda because of Darren and Manni , now we do not need medical companies money to support us or our NHS to like us, we are being flooded with offers !
