Correct me if I'm wrong ... but surely all apprenticeships had some sort of retention clause. If not, they the employers must have been idiots!
In the army we had to "sign on" for some stipulated period (
n years) each time we went forward on some sort of career course. Apprentices served a 9+3, if I remember rightly (nine years service, plus three as a reservist). But anyway, why would you
want to leave?
