We use an Eastman Cam operated swage tool.
These come with range of crimp sizes.
Four crimps with the same crimp number are dovetaled into the slotted cam.
The Cam is closed pneumatically and crimps the ferrule.
They are big bench mounted bits of kit.
I have also seen similar crimping tools with a pump action in which the crimp load can be adjusted, maintained and calibrated.
Calibration certificates would of course require logging.
