Hello, I am thinking about getting a laptop to upgrade my aging 486 !!!

I would like wi-fi and all the new features but with limited space, thought about a laptop... But :

I now use the desktop PC to program radio equipment and to send data to modules etc where all the connections use RS232 and some apps I have written use MS-DOS and not windows !

Can I get a USB to RS232 changer (9way connector) but still be able to access the port under DOS on a laptop ? I think that the answer is no ! No shops will give an answer !

I know that a PC can be made into a dual boot system where the drive is split and you select what system you want when powering up.

Any help please !!!
Andy.
