Yet another bad piece of journalism, I notice. Which, I might add, seems to be the norm these days. All part of the great "dumbing down" of Britain, I dare say.
She did not "accidentally throw away the mattress" ... she did it deliberately, thinking she was doing the right thing by her mother. What she
wasn't aware of (we must assume) was the $1 million stashed inside.
I also have my doubts about
this piece of
reportage:-
"There has been no comment from her mother"!
A couple of other thoughts come to mind:-
1) Can we be sure that the mattress
made it to the garbage dump?
2) How come the old gal was able to (secretly, supposedly) accumulate that sort of wealth?
3) It's one way of avoiding inheritance taxes!
Let's just say that sometimes it's best not to simply accept things at face value!
And lastly ... Tel Aviv churns out 3,000 tonnes of rubbish every day (hey, that's almost as much as Glastonbury)! How long before Israel becomes just one big garbage dump?
